Hey there!

For the last ten years I’ve worked in the Jewelry industry bringing custom design dreams to life. I’ve worked in both corporate and independent settings; gaining experience working collaboratively, independently, and directly with clients (“clients” being another jewelry store or the individual consumer themselves). I’ve enjoyed my time in the jewelry industry, but I’m ready to move on to my next adventure. Hearing UX design described as “creative problem solving” drew me in right away; learning how big of a role empathy plays is what made me realize I’m meant to be in this industry. Understanding others and their point of view has always been a strong suit of mine. I’ve always been a creative person with an eye for design. Designing with a purpose more than to just make something look good, but to make a product the most functional it can be for the user is such a fun and interesting challenge.

Since embarking on this new and exciting journey I’ve been volunteering my time with non-profits to gain the experience I need to break into the UX Design field. The best way to learn something is by doing it, and although I have a lot to learn it’s incredibly exciting and motivating doing this freelance work and learning as I go! I also have been taking online classes, going to organized meet-ups, meeting up for coffee to chat with established UX Designers, and reading up on the subject!
